HAMDEN, CT — The opening day of Hamden’s Thursday Farmers Market kicks off on Thursday, June 27, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Hamden’s Town Center Park. The Thursday Farmers Market is located next to Josh’s Jungle Playground in Town Center Park. Access to the market is via the lower parking lot of the Miller Cultural Complex (2901 Dixwell Avenue) and is accessible to all. Parking is free.
The town has a “diverse array of vendors and activities lined up for the Market, with more than 20 vendors, community groups, and organizations joining throughout the season,” according to a news release. The market will feature a variety of food trucks and food vendors with items such as locally grown produce, prepared foods, and baked goods. There will also be plenty of stations that provide extras such as free children’s activities, handmade products, as well as local crafts.
Each market will also feature the special musical talent of a local band or performance artist, according to officials. Hamden Youth Services will be onsite, as well, and will host an awesome array of arts and crafts projects for kids
“The Farmer’s Market has become an institution in the Town of Hamden,” Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said in a statement. “It provides our residents with access to fresh local produce and a place to meet their neighbors and support local business. We are excited to carry on Hamden’s summer traditions and continue to build a sense of community amongst our residents.”
The Farmer’s Market begins Thursday, June 27 and ends Thursday, Oct. 3.
