PITTSBURG, Kan. – Fresh local produce is now being sold in Pittsburg as the Pittsburg Area Farmers Market opening day kicks off.
10 vendors were at the opening day showing off their produce.
Market Manager Amber Devena says she enjoys seeing the vendors present their labors of love to the community.
Devena says although it was chilly, they had great attendance.
There was also live music from a barbershop quartet, and the market plans to have even more community performances throughout the season.
Devena says, ‘It makes me really excited for the season. And to see, you know, more people showing up. Hopefully more vendors coming out. More products for everyone to get. “
She adds Pittsburg’s farmer’s market will be held each Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM until october 26.
Additional dates will be held on Wednesdays from June 5 to August 7. Those times are yet to be determined.
