PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — With the hot summer weather approaching, you may have noticed your allergies are getting worse.

According to Pollen.com, Oregon’s pollen levels rate from medium to high. The site looks at the pollen levels in different cities and towns every day.

As of Tuesday, the Portland area has a medium-high rating of 9.6 while Eugene is seeing pollen levels closer to 11. The scale ranges from 0-12, however, nowhere in the Pacific Northwest falls into the “low” category.

The top pollens affecting people’s allergies in the state are grasses and walnut. Walnut pollen season is in the spring while grass pollen takes a toll on people’s allergies starting in the spring and lasting until fall.
