Crews are continuing to work on Interstate 5′s northbound lanes between Brooks and Woodburn.
The paving work is weather dependent and started slowly earlier this week, though construction barrels were at the ready as early as Sunday night.
Crews will be working the 12-mile stretch during the overnight hours to mitigate traffic delays. But the window for crews to be in the travel lanes starts as early as 7 p.m. on weeknights and lasts until as late as 9 a.m. the following day. For this week, workers have mostly had lanes completely cleared before 5 a.m.
The project will pave the freeway on both sides and is expected to be completed by October. See the project website for details.
