High pressure continues to build in the metro area Friday, serving up a dry and warm day after morning clouds depart.

The end of the work week will warm to near 80 degrees under mostly sunny afternoon skies. Unlike some of the other recent dry days, mostly clear skies will linger into Saturday as well.

It’s likely there will be some low clouds early Saturday. But they should clear away quickly for clear conditions and a high of about 78 degrees. A system traveling south from the Gulf of Alaska will move into the region overnight and into Sunday morning.

Some areas could see showers late Saturday. Sunday morning will be cloudy with a chance of rain before 11 a.m. and some lingering showers in the early afternoon. But there will also be sun breaks. High temperatures will hover around 76 degrees.

The first part of next week should be a string of cloudy mornings followed by mostly sunny afternoons. Highs in the upper 70s.
