A 22-year-old man has been arrested in the slaying last week of a man who was shot at a downtown Portland hotel.
Abdikadir Osman faces second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon charges in the death of 23-year-old Shawn Fujioka, the Portland Police Bureau said Thursday afternoon.
Officers found Fujioka at the Marriott hotel on Southwest Naito Parkway about 1 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, while responding to reports of a shooting. Fujioka was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Osman, and Thursday a law-enforcement team arrested him in the 3600 block of Southeast 28th Avenue. A search warrant was also served in the 8400 block of Southeast 77th Avenue related to the investigation, police said.
No details were released on why Osman is suspected or or on the shooting were released.
